Rain Face

Title: “Rain Face II”
Medium: Oil
Dimensions: 5″x5″
One cold rainy day a friend and I went to the city for some inspiration. I was attracted to the people scurrying around with their umbrellas. The umbrella appeared to me as a metaphor for shelter - one of our most basic needs.
Over time I’ll likely complete a series of these. The title I will attribute to a friend who mentioned her family lets her know (in jest) when she has her “rain face” on. I laughed because it’s true….take a look at people’s faces next time your in the rain, you’ll see. Thanks Carma!
