Artist Paint Tube

Title: “Artist Paint Tube”
Medium: Oil
Dimensions: 5″x7″

Every artist has to paint something in their studio and/or a self portrait….I’ll get to the portraits later. I think its a right of passage. This particular tube expressed my surroundings and feelings at the time - worked hard and held up to the task. You can see the crunches and folds in the tube. Even the top isn’t straight, it’s been banged around and crunched up a bit from squirting out a glop of paint in the moment, or being stuffed in a box for some on-site creativity. This painting is rich with color and texture. Every paint tube reflects the touch of the artist like a well worn pair of shoes - the patterns and character build up over time and are unique and personal.
